USI Summer Special....
...a lot of fun and action
On July 18 and 19, a USI highlight from the “Summer Special” series took place under the professional guidance of our outdoor partner, “Freelife Outdoorsport.”
With rafting on Saturday and canyoning on Sunday, our students enjoyed a wet and action-packed weekend.

USI goes international...by bike!
Job shadowing at the university sports department in Mittweida
Once again this year, the USI set off by bike to another country to exchange ideas with other university sports organizations as part of a “job shadowing” program.
Following the University of Freiberg in 2025, this year’s program included another technical university from the EURECA-PRO University Alliance: the University of Mittweida.
Before we could meet up and have our first in-person meeting, we still had to cover about 400 km by bike—including 4,500 meters of elevation gain—with our panniers.
Over the course of 2.5 days, we rode from the Upper Austrian border through the Bavarian Forest, across the Czech Republic, over the Fichtel Mountains, and past Chemnitz to our final destination.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the University Sports Department in Freiberg for the interesting meeting and the great exchange of ideas.
